Asbestos rope seals between the frame and glazing panels to this sky light unit on the roof of a former public house. Similar construction is used within factory and warehouse north lights and other high level window applications. Once freed from the from the seal is normally held within grease so fibre release is low. However when dry this material can become very friable. Often missed on an asbestos management survey this material contains Chrysotile asbestos.

To improve the fire ratings of doors asbestos cement or asbestos insulation board was often fixed to the door. In some cases the doors have been modified that well that its hard to tell the difference (see other examples). These panels were identified in an asbestos management survey and contain Chrysotile asbestos.

This photograph was taken in a basement boiler room following an asbestos management survey. The panels contain Chrysotile asbestos and have been confirmed as a cement product. Its common that boiler room ceilings contain asbestos insulation board. Asbestos cement ceilings can also be found in many other locations such as, toilet ceilings, shower rooms, kitchens, retail areas etc.
