Asbestos Roofing Sheets For Collection

Asbestos cement typically contains Chryotile (white asbestos) however older materials often contain quantities of Crocidolite (blue asbestos) and in some application Amosite (brown asbestos).

Asbestos roof removal whatever the size whether a garage at a domestic property or a 20,000sqft warehouse unit should be done in a controlled methodical manner. Sheets should be removed one at a time ensuring the minimum damage to each asbestos roof sheet.

Many premises owners have opted for over cladding. This should be done with extreme care as many contractors fail to put in place control measures for the asbestos roof sheets. On many, many occasions Powell Padilla have been called to estimate the extent of debris with an industrial property following over cladding works. It seems in many cases no control measures where in place to stop debris falling from above onto the factory floor as new fixings are installed.

There are also other considerations, what are the panels beneath the roof? Are these asbestos?

Even innocent looking fibre board panels may be coated with asbestos paper, sprayed asbestos insulation or in rare occurrences the board itself may contain Crocidolite, Amosite and Chrysotile.
